Agency History
Tropical Insurance Agency, Inc. was established in July 1976 by Nestor G. Rivero, C.I.C. and continues to be the primary agent and is active in the day to day operations.
Our philosophy is to continue the present growth goals with primary emphasis on cross selling and target marketing different types of business where special programs are available to us.
Our personal lines department enjoys standard companies that have taken the initiative of becoming leaders in the technology world. We seek to find the same for our commercial department. We strongly believe the agency system has changed drastically, from a system of paper pusher to become leaders in providing sales service to our clients.
Personnel - Directors and Officers
Nestor G. Rivero, president, 1976. Holds a B.B.A. from Florida International University. Full-time producer licensed in property and casualty, life and health. His duties have been to oversee the operation of the agency in general. In addition, he is the primary commercial agent in the office. He obtained his C.I.C. designation in 1978 and his work hobbies include current chairperson for both InVest in the state of Florida and the local Independent Insurance Agents Association in Miami-Dade County.
Alfredo Gonzalez, vice-president, 1982. B.B.A. from Florida International University. Full-time producer licensed in property and casualty. Personal lines administrator and manager. Selected in 1989 to Progressive Insurance Company’s Customer Service Quality Council.
Gema Lopez, secretary, 1976. Currently she is a personal lines underwriter. During her career at Tropical Insurance Agency, Gema has grown within the agency. At inception, Gema Lopez was a file clerk.
Jessica Blanco graduated from the University of Miami, with a bachelor in Marketing, she has been able to reconstruct our office towards a people oriented agency. She has worked for the past ten years in the commercial department, alongside Mr. Rivero, where together they can provide the service you need for your commercial business.
Sebastian Rejon, CRIS is a licensed Property/Casualty Producer focusing on small to mid-size businesses. With over 10 years of experience he has been able to cater to the specific needs of all business owners. Currently, Sebastian is an active member of many local & statewide associations and also holds the Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS) designation.
